Protecting ecosystems where we live

Welcome to the Oori

The Oori is a game reserve owned, funded and maintained by the residents and landowners of the area.

The Oori is located within the Rhensoterspruit Nature Conservancy, and is the western aspect of the Conservancy.  Many of the landowners in the Oori have already committed their participation in the effort to formalise conservation.  The Crocodile River Reserve extends further east and north to encompass a viable area for formal conservation protection.

Enter the Oori along the Winsome Valley Road from the Lanseria road (R512) , where a boom gate controls access. The Oori is to the south of the Winsome Valley road and stretches to the Crocodile River.

The game in the Oori belongs to the residents, and is managed by a Game Committee.

Portions of the farms Riverside Estates, Rhenostespruit, and Vlakfontein are included in the Oori.
